The latest copy of Mini Driver (the British Mini Clubs mag.) has dropped through my letter box this morning. A quick scan through shows no article on my Elf (as requested by Dave Hollis) but the main Advert for the show uses my photo to represent the Elf !

Re: Bingley Hall. Staffs. 30th Jan 2011
Hoping to get our stand looking the business at Bingley.
I have acquired some black and white bunting (to match the banner) which hopefully Big Al will be bringing?
I am also hoping to acquire some display boards (pin boards) so if anyone has any E/H posters or info to put up.... bring it along.
Am also going to bring a table so that Al can display our leaflets and keyrings, stickers etc.....
Trish is sorting out a special E/H 50th Birthday cake, and the T shirts have been despatched!!!! And the tickets are on their way to me!
.... and I have one more super surprise lined up also!
Can't wait now!!!!

That's not fair, taunting us .... tell, tell, tell... seriously tho I love a good surprise
Likewise, I can't wait either - Katy's had a new switch for the brakelights today, my mechanic also adjusted the brakes slightly while she was there - I'm going to drive her around for a couple of days just to make sure she's running Ok and up for the trip as she hasn't been driven since Malvern
This is really going to be a good one. Thanks so much for all the effort in planning and organising.

all in good time!
No problemo in organising.... Team effort! If everyone turns up safe and sound etc etc, that is what will make it, not the organising or the planning, as I'm sure Tony and Trish will agree!

Thats great, what I usually do is put them in the glove compartment straightaway. That way unless you forget to come in Rupert you can't forget 'em
Going to get some shopping in now then set my display up for a photo. Please bring what you can next week.I'm sure we can put up a good show.

"Rupe's" in Practical Classics (out on the 24th) in the buyers guide if you want to put that in the display?

Re: Bingley Hall. Staffs. 30th Jan 2011
I'll be coming up the M11 to join the M25. So could do either j 26 or South Mimms, On a personal level I'd prefer to hook up with a convoy sooner rather then later. Tho if there's a few of us hanging around waiting to hook up, I guess the services is the most sensible option.
I'm sure people would all like to drive in daylight, and to make sure we get there with plenty of drinking time - but what time are you all thinking of, if say we were to meet at South Mimms - I know that some of you seem to take enormous pleasure and getting up at the crack of dawn - but can I just put in a bit of a plea for not TOO early - pleeeeeease. S xx

Re: Bingley Hall. Staffs. 30th Jan 2011
I guess for you Southern folks that is approx 130 miles from South Mimms to Stafford ie 2.5 hrs.
If you were to arrive before dark say 4.30-5.00pm this means leaving S/Mimms at 2.30 at the latest.
Even if you err on one hour earlier than that (1.30pm) This should at least give you all morning to get from home to South Mimms? You should be able to have short stop for a stretch and if nec. a re-fuel but go easy on re -fuelling. You will need to have at the most ONLY a 1/4 of a tank of petrol to be allowed into the hall (Elf and safety)
May I suggest you do not take the toll road but stay on M6 to junction 10A and turn onto M54 (Telford) At junction 3 take the A41 North (Newport and Whitchurch) Premier Inn is approx 8 miles on your Right. entrance shared with Garden Centre) IF you take the toll road you will miss junction 10A
Don't worry about re fuelling when you leave for home, there is a filling station approx 3 miles and 4 miles from the showground before joining the M6.
Have a pleasant trip up North.

I like your logic Tony but in my previous dealings with convoys with Al and Ray a late start is 7am..... an early start doesn't even bear thinking about....
However as Al know, I might moan about it but I will turn up at pretty much the agreed time (even when the clocks go back ;-)) xx

I have to admit that when travelling a distance like that myself, (particularly somewhere unknown to me) I do like to have a bit of a look round the place, after all, most of Sunday will be spent indoors and the homeward journey will be in the dark.
BTW the clocks don't go forward until March 27th !
