Himley Hall.8th May 2011
I would very much liked to have made it to Brooklands to meet a few of the members here, but it's just too far south to fit in with other things and babysitters. I was wondering if there were plans for a stand/presence at Himley? I've never been to the show so have no ideas if it's any good.

Where are you based ? Himley is a fantastic venue sited between the Hall and the lake. I shall be at Brooklands ,all being well and will discus Himley with the gang. I usually go with my local mini club, (I met Jason and Andrew there last year) It was a really hot sunny day ,many people got sunburnt!

I'm based in Liverpool Tony. Because of the wedding a few weeks ago time off work is at a premium this year so Brooklands will have to be a miss. Up for Himley though.

Dave Hollis at British Mini Club has emailed Trish asking if we can have another EHR stand at Himley, to celebrate the 50th, with a prime position right by the lake! (Tony - I know you've had some conversation with Dave about this too, but not sure where you're at with it?)
But me and Trish will be there anyway so happy so organise a club stand (like Bingley but not on such a grand scale), so if people want to add to this thread or PM me with their name and reg number, we'll do it on a first come, first served basis until the allocated spaces are taken.
How does that sound?

Thats fine by me Jase seeing as DH has approached Trish in the first place. I'm mad busy myself at the moment despite being retired, the days are just flying past!
Please put me down for the stand at Himley (which for those reading this thread is 8th May.) Reg No 510 XYD can you send the pass to me please?
Cheers.
Tony
PS See you at Brooklands next Sunday.

Re: Himley Hall.8th May 2011
regrettably this one is a no-go for me as i shall be working all weekend and there's only so many weekends at work that i can get out of (if this changes, you'll be the first to know!) but very happy (and envious!) for others to be there and represent the magnificent piece of motoring history that is our little club, especially those with better cars than mine!
Re: Himley Hall.8th May 2011
Okay, so far then the definites for Himley are:
1. Jason Christopher
2. Tony Haslam
3. Mark Grainger
Any more takers?

Re: Himley Hall.8th May 2011
I'll confirm one way or the other in the next day or so. It's the week before London to Brighton, which I have tickets for, and it'll be one or the other. L2B is beginning to feel like a slog in one weeknd from liverpool though.

H-H is a bit far in a day from me but if Humph would contact me I'll buy the L2B ticket at cost.
Couldn't get one when I got our 'Wol' they'd sold out.
How do we do the contact bit? - don't really want to splat my email or phone number on the web!

Himley Hall May 8th - Update
Have just spoken with Dave Hollis.
I suggested that his Gate marshals direct all Elf's and Hornets to join the display by the lake and that is what he is going to do. Irrespective of whether they are E/H members, Concourse, WIth other clubs or just public individuals. (Obviously he can't force people away from their clubs if they want to be with them) but it is a good way of capturing more in terms of numbers, and a good way for us to recruit more members!
We will still have a register stand there, and so far I have 4 definites.
Can all of you who want to be on the register stand, please PM me with your full name/address and a photo of your car showing the registration. I will then send to Dave Hollis and in return he will send out free passes.
Otherwise it will be pay on the gate, and be directed to park with us.
*Big Al* - Can you bring the feather banner to Bristol Classic Car Show and I'll pick it up from you from there?
Cheers all....
Jase

We will still have the register banner there, (so a stand of sorts, although we probably won't all be together, depending on arrival times) and so far I have 4 definites, and another 3 in last 2 days!
Because of low interest up to yesterday, I did not apply for passes, so it will be pay on the gate, and you should be directed to park with us around the lake by the gate marshall. If, for any reason the gate marshall turns out to be unaware of this arrangement, ask to be directed to the gate and if they have any problems get them to confirm with Dave Hollis via the radio. But it should be ok.
It would be great to see you there.
I will double confirm all this is the case with Dave Hollis today, and then update the Himley Hall thread on here.
Hope that's ok, and all being well, we'll see you there!
Cheers all....
Jase

Re: Himley Hall.8th May 2011
Well we're ready for this, sort of. Have had a good weekend of cleaning, and Bert looks a million times better than he did after some serious elbow grease. Happy with the results of the cleaning we decided to take a shooping trip, bad idea. Returned to the car to find a chunk of paint the size of a 10p piece missing from the drivers door, and a large dent ( and a numer of smaller ones) in the passenger door. Some banker has given the car a damned good whack in the side with a door*. Hopefully a quick call to dent wizard will sort the dent, but the paint is screwed and will need a dodgy touch up before Sunday.

What time do we need to arrive on Sunday? Will we be able to get to the Elf stand at any time in the day? We've lost our babysitter and that means we may be later setting off.

Re: Himley Hall.8th May 2011
Gates usually open at 9am. Show starts (gates open to public) at 10am. They are usually pretty good at letting some late comers. Do try and get there as early as you can as the insurance does not permit cars to move when the public are about.
Ask them to direct you straight to our stand by the lake.

Re: Himley Hall.8th May 2011
Im afraid we won't make this now. We've just lost our babysitter for tomorrow, and our back ups are away on holiday. So with no seatbelts in the back of the Elf, and the the early start not a good idea the day before the step daughter starts her SATS, it's with regret we won't be there. I hope the sun shines, and the everyone has a great day.
