Re: GIZMO My 67 Hornet
Looking better all the time, just make sure you do not weld too close (and too soon)to any seam sealer before it's finished curing and ceases giving any vapour off so that it doesn't ignite in a flashback Like my son in law got (mind you he was in an enclosed area)

Huh? I thought I understood English, but maybe not. Perhaps you oughtn't be welding while you're on medication. We Are The Mods wrote:Ill soon be of the body work that makes the car look got. well look got im going to keep it ratty

but don't understand about "keep it RATTY" ? Am I partly "on Track?"

Re: GIZMO My 67 Hornet
That looks very risky. When you have to cut so much metal away, it's normal to temporarily weld in a strengthening bar to keep the door aperture from deforming. I was a bit nervous about it when I did my clubman saloon, and I didn't have to cut away the whole step.
Just noticed the welder though - is that a plain old stick welder? That's got to be hard work on a car body - I can do it, but it's difficult. Treat yourself and your car to a mig! Much better weld quality for thin metal.
