The latest? Well sadly he won't be ready in time. Am now told end of November but at least he's not being rushed. A few problems.... cutting the bumpers off with a plasma cutter without damaging the bumpers proved to be difficult... the doorskins were a problem, but should be with the sprayer tomorrow... and the engine wouldn't come out!
That said, evem if he had been ready for Malvern, the new interior I ordered (and paid for) at Stanford Hall, has yet to materialise, and the suppliers seem to be avoiding me!!!
Ah well, if patience was my dog, she'd be well exercised by now!!!!!

1 space left - that is/was mine.
If you PM me your name and address and car details, I will post you out a ticket, as soon as I get them.
They've not arrived with me yet, despite a personal email from Andrew Greenwood to me last week, ensuring me they were on the way! I will call him again tomorrow...

I still haven't had any news on my house sale so I may be able to make this after all, still not sure, but would love to try.
Are you out of tickets now (if so can I enter privately and just squeeze in, or is it only prebooked tickets)and what was that place called we stayed in last year? Assuming the Travel lodge is full.

SJ - there is one space left as it stands but the previous postee expressed an interest for it, although I have emailed Kevin with the Heinz 57 asking if he is going. If not, there will definitely be a space!
The place you stayed at was the Travellers Rest, Ross.

I'd guess Minispares or Somerfords. Not many about with those driveshafts these days, most have been converted to later type CVs.

Is it hard too convert? I have a few 'normal' driveshafts. Are they the same for disks and drums?

Re: Malvern Mini Show 25th Oct 09
Drum & disc types are different - the disc driveshaft has a much larger outer spline. Well CV jont anyway.
I'm not entirely sure how interchangeable they are - short of swapping the gearbox or at least the diff. Mine is an auto but lost the early UJ-type driveshafts when a later engine was fitted (auto boxes being made of cheese

Malvern Update....
I have spoken to Andrew Greenwood today and he 100% assures me we have a stand and that I should hopefully get the tickets in time to post them out! Failing that, I will just have to meet everyone at the entrance with their ticket!
I have had a message from Kevin with Heinz 57 who sadly can't make it so, the stand comprises of...thus far...
Andrew
Tony
Big Al
Liz
Leaving us two spaces free although "Mini Kid" has expressed an interest, and also "SJ" - Can either or both of you confirm with me asap as to whether you require a ticket or not? Cheers! Txt me if you like, 07900 492712
I will send the tickets out as soon as I get them!
Cheers
Jase

Re: Malvern Mini Show 25th Oct 09
Count me in!!
Although the post here at the moment is not good. Assuming they arrive with you it might be better to hold on to the tickets and pick them up on the day.
Not sure where I'll be staying as the travel lodge wher Tony is and the Travellers rest are both full. Ther's plently of other places not to far so I'll get in somewhere.
I'm going to make a bitof a weekend of it. Anyone fancy meeting for dinner the night before? If so any suggestions for a general location - (possibly somewhere between you place Jase and where Tony's staying) as that might help me decide where to book.

Thanks for the update and count me. Re the tickets, with the possible uncertainty with the postal system, it may be best to see you at the gate on Sunday but I will leave it to you to decide.
Looking forward to meeting up again and the rest of the E&H members.

Malvern Update....
I have the 6 tickets at last!!!!!! They arrived today!
Unfortunately, due to the marvellous Post Office going on strike tomorrow and Friday I will have to meet everyone just outside the entrance, as I wouldn't trust them to arrive with you all by Saturday. Big Al is coming down on Saturday night and staying over at mine, we will then convoy over to Malvern on Sunday morning with the Mini Foresters Mini Club, to hopefully arrive at Malvern by 9am at the latest.
All cars have to be in place on their stands by 9.30am, or risk not being let into the halls (health & safety rules) so, I will be outside the paying gate with your tickets. There is an area just outside the paying gate where you can park up and wait should you arrive there in the unlikely event before me.
My mobile number is 07900 492712 if you have any problems.
The stand so far comprises of...thus far...

Re: Malvern Mini Show 25th Oct 09
Hi Guys, I'm really sorry but I'm not gonna make it either. I thought my house sale was being very slightly delayed as we still hadn't exchaged, until today - unfortunately my "somewhat agressive buyer" to quote my solicitor, thought otherwise. So I will now be spending my weekend surrounded by boxes and making trips to the tip!!
Have a great time

I suspect it was "Big Al" in JVG! Mainly because there were only two Hornets there, and one was White and for sale, and to be fair, didn't look that capable of doing that speed!

Re: Malvern Mini Show 25th Oct 09
I'm glad everyone had a good day!
Thanks to Big Al, Tony, Liz and Andrew. Well done to Liz for winning best Elf, and a special mention to fellow E/H/R member Richard Bradley, for getting r/up with "Elfred" despite being on another stand!
I have some pics but they are mostly the same as Tony's, but those that are different I will put in the report for the newsletter.
"Rupe" may not have been there but at least his new seats made it onto the club stand!!! Now why didn't I take a picture of that?
