Malvern Mini Show - March 2009
Hi All,
Just to post a few pics of "Rupert's" adventure today to Malvern Mini Show.
After last time, when Alastair and SJ both thrashed my boy into third place and picked up trophies for best Elf/Hornet (not that I was miffed or anything..... ), due mainly to the fact that Rupe's engine bay looked decidedly ropey, I decided to do something about it.....
So a bit of elbow grease later..... and I get to Malvern to find that because the Elf/Hornet Register were not in atttendance as a club..... there was no category for Best Elf/Hornet!
Imagine my despair????!!!! Well, it was short lived as Rupe managed to get a runner-up prize for the 1959-69 category!!!!
In addition, the Mini Foresters Club (who I was with) picked up R/Up for best club stand at the first event they have done as a club, Stacy - the founder of the club won best car in 70-79 category for her Clubbie Estate, and Gary r/up for Pride Of Ownership with his 3 Italian Job Replicas! So a good day all in all!
Interestingly, it is worth noting that Andrew Greenwood, the organiser, will include a category for Best Elf/Hornet if he knows the Register will be in attendance..... maybe other shows should do this?
It was also good to meet IrishStick today and also Elfred from this forum.
Hope you enjoy the pics!
Cheers!
Jase

SJ....
I'm only joking! I wasn't really "miffed" at all.... I was chuffed to bits for you and big Al, last Malvern my elf engine bay was decidedly embarrassing and I would have been more embarrassed if Rupe had beaten Katy with his engine looking as sad as it did!
But, it did spur me on! At least now I can be proud to open the bonnet!!!

Actually I think you were too ashamed to open the bonet the last time and I did it for you!! But seriously, anyone that can do such a good cleaning job (let alone a man LOL) deserves the upmost respect!! If you'd like to come round and have a go at the inside of my oven, or come to think of it, Katy's engine, you'd be more than welcome!!
