Re: drive coupling
Hi John
The reason I asked about the needles is that I believe all the couplings (at least the central spiders) are not all the same. I keep one coupling in the car as a spare in case I'm stranded in the boonies. The other is currently sitting on my bench in bits with them waiting for a good home!
I think the outer caps (what you are after) are all the same but maybe the bearing surfaces on the lugs on the central spider maybe different diameters (reground due to refurbishment or whatever) with the difference between various couplings made up for by the diameter of the needles. I found this as I sought to make the best coupling of the two that I have......with one set of needles, the cap just wouldn't go on!!!...the needles were of slightly different diameters....a tad fatter.
Any way, send me a PM with your address details (maybe also get a diameter of your needles if you (or a buddy) have a Micrometer then I can compare and maybe send you some spare needles also.......Obviously, don't run the coupling without a full complement of greased needles else it won't last 5 mins!!
you'll have to owe me a pint to pay for the postage!!!
Cheers
Alan

Re: drive coupling
John.....Outer Cap on its way as we speak...
It has been thoroughly cleaned up, regreased with a full complement of (methinks) the fatter needles and is ready to fit. Don't force it on, it may be because of the larger needles and we'll have to find some slimmer ones if necessary
Cheers
