The time has come.
Hi,
Im Geoff from Durham England.
I have a 1965 Hornet and a 1966 Elf.
Ive owned hoth for over 25 years. Eek!
The hornet was bought first as a restoration project to learn on with my dad and part way through I bought the elf as it needed less work. Been a perfectionist that didnt quite work out either...
Both were stripped to bare metal. The hornet still needs bodywork.
The elf just needs finished as its partly reassembled but been that way for 10 years now...
But like everything other projects have come and gone over the years and these two have sat waiting there turn at the back of the garage.
I need to mentally finish the elf as it was the only thing me and my father ever worked on together and sadly he past away last year of brain cancer.
Im here to get enthusiastic about the elf again and to get motivated to finish it.

Re: The time has come.
welcome to our wee corner of t'interweb
good luck with the project and make sure you have some fun along the way.
my second little car, "Rusty" took me 5 and a half years to nail back together, still looks rough, but drives a treat and i've thoroughly enjoyed whizzing around with him this year.
all the hard work is usually worth it in the end

Hi Geoff
Firstly im really pleased to welcome you to the forum, i live local to you Darlington. Sometimes our projects seem to take an age to finish but as anyone will tell you all the effort is worth it in the end.
Im still in the process with my Hornet but getting closer and closer to putting it back into paint
Stick at it and most of all Enjoy the journey and make your father proud.
Best wishes
John

The fun parts probably working out were we put all the bits and the second is probably working out what they are and were they go.
It does not help there are a load of dads riley RM and Armstrong siddley parts all mixed in..
Ill get there slowly.
