Race against time!
Well wouldn't you know!
Less than a month until Castle Combe and both my cars are out of action!
The Elf has electrical problems - no side lights or instrument lights front or rear.....
The Hornet has had the clutch stripped - needs new clutch plate, crank seal and lock tabs for the assembly and service kit!
Bad times!

Re: Race against time!
I'm gessing here Jase. The one behind the carb, daft place to put a fuse!

Re: Race against time!
that's the one - inline fuse holder as part of wiring loom behind carb under bulkhead
Re: Race against time!
I have also found the odd errant fuse hidden up under the scuttle or nestling nicely on top of the heater between the lower dash!

Re: Race against time!
No Tony, just found them shoved up there! The heater should be wired thru the wiper switch and shares the same common fuse!

Re: Race against time!
My mate Ben's still struggling to find the cause.
Could it be just a bad earth somewhere?
I know just before this happened one of the number plate lights packed up due to excessive rust in the bulb holder. Could this have something to do with it?
Nick - I don't think it's fuse above the heater as the heater is working.
Only things not work are sidelights and dash instrument lights and interior light. All gauges working fine.
At least the Hornet is nearly done, so looking good for that being at Combe at least, but looking less likely the Elf with make Blenheim the following day

Re: Race against time!
time for the auto-electrician matey? possibly the switch may be at fault (try swapping the one from the other car and see if it works?) and the interior light may be a seperate fault? otherwise it is probably a fault in the circuit (no power getting through) like a break in the wire somewhere or a connector block come undone?
Re: Race against time!
Tried the switch, not that

Re: Race against time!
Are the multi earth wires, ( 1 on the boot floor next to the fuel tank, 1 near the wing A stiffener under the bonnet) tight and clean? May be worth undoing them to clean. Other thing is, does it have a floor dipswitch? Check the wiring to that if so that they are not pulled out.
Racking my brain cell here...

No, seriously Jase, I hope you sort it. These niggly little faults do drive you nuts

No floor dip switch Nick being a Mark 3. Will next check all the earth wires I can find!

Both cars live!!!!!!
Elf Electrics all fine now - darn pesky bulkhead inline fuse! WELL DONE Mr Chairman sir!
Just the points and condenser to change now.
Hornet Clutch replaced, nice little service and replace fuel hose from tank.
Hopefully they will both be at Castle Combe
