There's this one although it's a Hornet, not an Elf, located in Ohio, USA. Was up for sale a while back.

Re: pictures of riley elf race cars
Somewhere in this forum there are at least two cars that do historic rallying, and I know that somewhere there is a link to video footage. Sorry, I can't remember where, but it's not a big forum so it should take too much finding.

Re: pictures of riley elf race cars
thanks keep them coming
why I want pics is because I am starting a project first in my head, and maybe later in the winter I will begin building a historic racer for the track off my alf. and then it must be ready for 2012 race season. so all pics and details are welcome

It'd have to be a pre 1966 car first off and a 998 engine.

thats correct and no problemos mine is a 65 mkII. but there is a lot more to it than that. the apendix k is 77 pages long if you download it in a pdf file and in english, I speak swedish . so there a lot off rules to go thru, like ride hight, weight, what and what not to change on the car + it must follow the appendix j
thanks for all the pics and info.
discoman looking forward to se your pics

Re: pictures of riley elf race cars
So after getting my elf I am second guessing making a race car out of it for two reasons.
1) it's condition and how rare it is (especially being a LHD)
2) I think it may just be too small to make a good race car for me as a big guy
Any thoughts??

Re: pictures of riley elf race cars
A LHD Riley is a rare thing, keep it original and you will have a very valuable and unique car. I hate to see any booted Mini go into the risky area of Racing. They are too unique to risk, particularly in the USA. Race it if you must, but keep it original.

in my case.. I've had the damn thing for years, and cant sell it for the money I want for it. so I think why not race it instead so it comes to some use and hopefully with out crashing it

Re: pictures of riley elf race cars
So now having all 3 Rileys home and in my garage I have definatley decided I don't want to make the LHD Elf a full time race car BUT I was thinking it might be kinda cool to make it a race car "dress up" but drive it on the street only. Numbers on the side of the doors, hood pins, roll bar etc. so I would have a stock Elf and a Pro Street Elf. Or should I just leave it alone....What do you think?
