Does anyone know if the sill/wheel arch chrome strip for a mini and elf, are the same?
If so how do they fit (push on or with clips)

Thanks

Looks like a big job and requiring tools I don't have.
I thought it may be possible to use the plastic stuff advertised in the mini mags.
Oh well, another job for the list, which will have to wait.

If you contact Phoenix supplies, they do the trim. (I paid £16 for mine a couple of years ago) Just tap on with a rubber mallet, use a hairdryer to warm up the plastic to make it flexible when going round the arches, but there's no clips or riveting required. Looks just as good and has never come off at speed.

I used a chrome plastic product called ProtektoTrim from www.cowlesproducts.com that's made for door edges. Goes on like what Jase said only doesn't need the hair dryer. It has a bead of glue inside the groove that holds it in place and it can be cut to any length. With my wheel arches I only need a short strip on the sill seams, but I also I used it to replace the A-panel seam covers.

Sounds like good stuff.

I bought a job lot of the plastic stuff a few years ago and haven't got round to using it all yet! Goes on easily enough as Jase says; you can do it without the hair dryer in summer but it will help to curve it smoothly anyway.
