reverse gear
has anyone ever selected reverse and the car still drives forward this is the problem ive got with my hornet it is definetly selecting reverse but only drives forwad

Found the problem when I was selecting reverse it was selecting fourth it was the rod change rotated 180 degrees out off it proper position but that's the problems that arise when you buy a car in bits and pieces and don't take it apart yourself easy fix though

Glad you found out what the problem was.
I was going to say about that pin but I didnt think that you had disconnected it so thought it couldnt be that.
I was always told to select reverse before pulling that pin out - it makes the pin easier to remove and you always know what gear to put it it after refitting the engine.
