speedo cable

Has any one ordered a speedo cable lately, Mini spares do a 30'' for £8.50. The one on mine is 27'' but could be off anything I have had the garage over the years and I havn't taken the old one off yet. I have a Hornet with a Elf dash in it.
Has anyone got a correct one off at the moment and could measure it for me. Thanks, Paul.

Not the first time I have given my own feedback, I ordered said 30'' cable and it is just right by giving that little bit extra length to play with which can be lost easerley under the bonnet.Had the usual problems fitting it.broken tip of inner stuck in the clock, so I had to take the clock out altogether and the lower connection is a complete git to get in unless you have the arms of a 5 year old to bend them round the drive shaft.
passed the mot today I just need to drive it more. Regards, Paul
