A welcome from a new member.
Hi All,
My name is Will and I live in the New Forest, I am 16 and currently write for Classics monthly about the restoration of my Morris 1000, Do not despair after this restoration I am hoping to get a rough Elf/Hornet to make into a convertible( like this one) , but I am having difficulty in finding information out about mini convertible kits. Anyway I hope I can put some of my knowledge form doing up my moggy into the forum.
Cheers,
Will

Re: A welcome from a new member.
welcome mate - hope you enjoy our little bit of cyber-space. we like moggies too - my first car was a very tatty old '67 rose taupe two-door, long since scrapped but my brother still has another old '62 two-door that we rebuilt with my dad many years ago. if it's got an a-series engine then it's cool in my book!
Re: A welcome from a new member.
thanks for the welcome, my moggies a '67 too, how weird.
I'm not really sure if I'd make a convertible Elf/Hornet but it depends, It would have to be a rusty one needing alot of work but I'll hold of the decision until I've got one. Hopefully after my moggys on the road in Aug/Sept.
Cheers,
Will

Well the Moggie still isn't finished, I have nearly finished the welding and will soon be moving onto the paint work !
I have decided against a convertible project, it seems like sacrilege to do that to these rare cars, the current idea is to get one and try to make the most economical car possible, I am hoping for 55 mpg Although I can see the appeal in having a convertible in these summer months

Re: A welcome from a new member.
Not sure quite what happened hear , the Morris restoration has taken much longer and been much more involved than I ever hoped, thankfully I'm now on the home straight and should be finished by the end of April. I also purchased myself a crusty Moggy convertible in need of some welding which I'll be doing before the MoT runs out in May.
Once both of these projects are off my plate I will continue my search for a Hornet or Elf. I really fancy getting a 850 and trying to get the best MPG out of that.
anyway here are some pictures of the morris'
