London to Brighton 2009 - 16th/17th May
Hi All,
I organise the London to Brighton, and I will be sending out the 'clubs' application forms next week, this is the form that allows clubs to bulk book tickets and apply for club stands. I know many of you will use your LSMOC membership to buy tickets (to save the £5), and many of you will enter the SNS rather than be on a stand. But I wanted to ask if you want a form posting to you?

I've never done L2B, and I'd love to do it with Rupe!

Well, 2009 would be a great first year as we have lots of extra stuff planned to celebrate Mini 50.
If your an LSMOC member you get an application form posted to you, general public use the form in Mini World out in January and repeated in February. Or you can apply as a club if someone co-ordinates and confirmed to me where they want the form sent.

as a rule, there's usually only a few of us that meet up in crystal palace and do the run so that's why i've never asked for a stand space before.
also, lsmoc usually insist that each club builds a racer/ go-kart type thing for the competition and as we are all so spread out and don't have regular meetings as such, i always figured it as too difficult.
however, never say never, so maybe 2009 will be the year for the first ever e/h reg club stand at brighton?!
now, who wants to build the go-kart?.......

First 51
If you have an L2B ticket you may have seen my requests for a car from every year 59-09 as these will be the first to leave Crystal Palace and be parked seperatley in Brighton. I have been checking my list and so far I only have 1 Elf in the potential candidates, and thats offering to represent the same year as someone else who has an amazing Cooper S police car! So if you own a 60's Elf or Hornet, and have an L2B ticket - apply to be in the first 51! Email enquiries@london-to-brighton.co.uk with you cars year and a picture. I also need a nice standard van and pickup... oh and a marcus would be good!

Hi Adam,
I'll take that as an early indication that Katy's not in the first 51
Go on the rest of you - we've got to have an elf/hornet...... or two!!

Then again, if no one else puts themselves forward does that increase my chances... you know you've gotta have at least one elf/hornet
Just a thought, you can't blame me for trying!!

Ooops
Oops sorry elfgirl! No decisions made just yet, I am taking all the snaps to a meeting tomorrow night so we can decide, but I think the year you applied for has an S police car, an great standard cooper! However your right, if I dont get another Elf or Hornet it will be 50/50.
Perhaps non of the people here are coming... best show of the year!

London to Brighton visit
Although I haven't entered my car for the event, I hope to visit the show in my modern day transport, sorry to say and spend a day, possibly weekend on the south coast with my wife.
As I haven't been on/to the L2B run before, is it similar to other Mini shows where there are the usual traders and Mini related events etc etc, and are there any issues re parking?

Brighton will be packed and parking at a premium and very expensive! forewarned is forearmed!
also, re: imm - i will not be able to go due to work, and we have no stand booked there as i believe clubs have to pay in advance the entry fee of £55 per car(?) and wondered if you'd like to try and organize a stand from your end? Ray P. will be going up (probably in his mk1 mini) and he could bring the banner etc? just a thought and sorry not been on here about it before now.
