Other Cars
Hello everyone,
I reckon that I have a fair few cars, other than my 1965 Riley Elf Mk 2
These are:
1955 Standard 10 saloon
1970 Morris Minor Saloon
1974 VW 1303 Beetle
1990 Ford Escort XR3i
1992 Mini Sprite
1999 VW Passat Saloon.
Like Martin, every one of these cars is on the road and used weekly.
Is there any known cure?
Best regards,
Richard

Unfortunaley not I am afraid, it is a tipper unit for carrying stone - I design and build gardens as a day job, but I built back so that it could be easily converted to carry a mini sized car ( for some reason !!), plus insurance does not cover me for "payment or reward"
Re: Other cars....
paint that door gordon!
only kidding - wish i had a truck to carry jvg about and save his worn bottom end!

don't worry the other door is the same colour as well!- I have allways fancied having a sign made for Daffy "Pikeys appreciation society " followed by several mobile numbers all crossed out - poor old bus does work hard earning his and my keep though and then on his days off taking Humphrey out to play
Re: Other cars....
Hi Miniswede
Not many pickups where you are - saw a fantastic one a few years ago north of Jonkoping - I'm not sure who was more surprised - him seeing a Hornet or us seeing a pickup

some of the early MkI's were exported to Sweden in 1961/62, but not many ( about 10 I think), It would be interesting if any of these had survived.
Re: Other cars....

Re: Other cars....
I've got just this one other Brit car, a 1959 AH Bugeye, but it's not quite in driving shape just now.
Other than that, there's a 1995 Toyota Tacoma 4x4, a 1991 Honda Prelude, and a 2008 Toyota Prius.
The only other Brit car I've ever owned was a 1971 Plymouth Cricket when I was 17, but I never knew it was British until years later when I found out it was actually a Hillman Avenger. I'd like to find another one, either an Avenger GT or an Avenger Tiger, but I don't think too many survived the '70s.

What minis have to contend with in the States
I have been tidying up my photo albums and found these photos of my friends mini van being overtaken by a juggernaut and thought you may like to see it. We were on our way to Mini Meet East 4th July 2008 in Maine USA. you can see why Brian (Red Riley) wants a fast motor to keep him out of trouble!
The other photo is the mini moke that was stopped by a highway Marshall who said
" I am sorry sir, but you are not allowed to drive golf carts on the highway" Needless to say He walked away with his tail between his legs when the driver showed him his documents!

Re: Other cars....
I have been known for owning stupid numbers of cars, at one point we had 15, but I've downsized to just 7 in the last couple of years.
They are:
'67 Riley Elf
'78 Mini 1000 saloon (my daily driver)
'71 Mini Clubman (still hydro!)
'72 Clubman estate (under restoration)
'79 Ford Capri (my son's, under restoration)
'84 VW Type 25 camper with Rover 3.5 V8 engine
and the "modern", Toyota Previa, the all-purpose family runabout.
Plus my 19-year old daughter owns a '88 Mini Jet Black.
Pics of most at my website.
