I have a Mkll and a Mklll and they both have leather interiors, one green and the other red but both tatty, I considered doing the same as you are asking about to get by untill I can afford to replace or revamp the leather.

In answer to your question, I pretty sure even later front and back seats will fit but the door cards on later Minis may be different, others may well know more. I will ask my eldest son if there are any differences on door card spec (he has about a dozen odd minis) and let you know.

As far as I know the only functional difference is that the Elf and I assume the Hornet also have "wings" on the sides of the rear seat that go down into the companion bins and cover the upper part of the inner wheel well. Other than that minor difference the Elf seats are leather faced. No reason why a standard Mini interior shouldn't fit and work fine. Door cards have the holes in slightly different locations due to the differences in door handle and lock operations from the standard Minis, but if you get your door cards without holes and cut them yourself it shouldn't be an issue.

Normal Mini seats and rear door cars will fit just fine - a friend has recently put an MPi set in his Hornet.

The front door cards are totally different though.
