rust rust rust Empty messy and expensive

I have tried all sorts of ways of doing the roof rail but the only sure way of getting rid of the rust is shot blasting it. I bought a unit off ebay for £ 120 new, a couple of bags of shot blast locally which were a tenner each.
I lined the garage with plastic and got on with it, what a mess!
you need a lot of air,I have 19 CFM off 2 hydro vein compressors and still struggled with an air fed mask.
Get a price off a firm, If they know what they are doing it could be done without touching the rest of the car.
I only went to the trouble because I had the air and I have built a box to do all the small bits and it is brilliant. But you have to griddle the spent shot and it is always blocking up but I would not be without it.
Regards, Paul.
