Rear under seat baskets?
I am sure I didn't imagine seeing a photo of an Elf or Hornet with two picnic style wicker storage baskets under the rear seats. At the time I saw them, I thought they were really cool, but didn't keep a note of where I saw them, and I have searched like mad and can't find anything about them, and I am starting to think I dreamed it!
Has anyone seen these, got originals, know what they're called etc.?
Please put me out of my misery!

FYI anyone else looking for baskets
I already ordered the baskets - but just in case anyone else finds this thread, I found this seller on eBay who makes them with leather straps for £25.00 each. I don't know about the quality, but here's the link.

Re: Rear under seat baskets?
Hi Ali,
Your baskets are on their way. Sorry for the delay, I was away all week.
Ours are hand made with aged, weather proof cane using an original BMC basket as a template. They could be left out side with no adverse affects on the cane, I have no idea about the others on the market, it costs us more than that to get ours made. We suspect they bought some of ours and made replicas (but with a non original strap) but don't know for sure.
Bill
Thanks for the link Chas.

Thanks Bill
I have no doubt that yours are lovely, and I am looking forward to receiving them.
As I said, I can't attest to the quality of the ones on eBay, suffice to say you very often in life get what you pay for! However they might suit someone refurbing on a budget who isn't so particular on the detail.
Thanks and will let you know when they arrive.

Re: Rear under seat baskets?
I've been having baskets made up for about 6 years but never marketed them openly, just word-of-mouth stuff.
One of the major parts suppliers investigated selling them, but as mentioned the price paid for proper quality wickerwork puts them out of the range of the casual buyer. I suspect the £25 ones on feeBay are terrible, as I pay more than that per basket from the manufacturer...
