This may be a stupid question but do you guys run antifreeze in your cars in the winter? If so what mixture of water to antifreeze, thanks!

Re: Winterizing Question
Of course. It should have anti-freeze/coolant in it all of the time. It's usually stocked in the autoparts stores according to the region, so whatever you buy at your local autozone is going to be the right stuff, just follow the directions as far as how much water to add to the mix. Some come pre-mixed, so make sure you follow the directions. I've read some conflicting reports about using the new OAT (orange color) coolant in older cars, and there seems to be evidence that it breaks down the old seals and gaskets, so probably safer to stick with the old green kind. Assuming it has coolant in it now it is probably the green ethylene glycol so you shouldn't have to do a full flush, but the rust and corrosion inhibitors only last a certain number of years, so it's a good idea to do a complete change now and then.
