I just bought a 1968 MkIII Wolseley Hornet and I wanted to say hey. I'm an American living on this little island known as England.

The car needs just a little bit of work to get her back up to snuff...but nothing that a little time with my sleeves rolled up won't cure.

I've been checking this forum out for a couple weeks and figured that I'd introduce myself.

Hello everybody!

Well, I finally got the Hornet into the shop. Found out that it's actually a 1969. She's having difficulty running without the choke. The car hasn't been on the road since the 80's. Having the garage do a once over and see if she'll pass MOT. Hopefully I can get her on the road and start troubleshooting some issues. I need to find a new rear bumper (the old one is dented and bent), re-chrome the trim pieces, redo the interior (leather is split)....amongst other things. I think I'm gonna replace the transmission as finding the gear is a crapshoot.

I look forward to getting her on the road very soon!

RAF Lakenheath. In Suffolk. I've been here for over 6 years. I enjoy this place. Glad that I finally have a little piece of England to take back to the states with me.

Well, a couple things need doing for my little one to get passed MOT.

The turn signal switch does not work.
There is no front plate.
The parking brake is ineffective.
The rear left brake hangs.
And other minor bits and bobs.

I just purchased new black plates. I need to find a new turn signal switch. The shop is sorting out the brakes.

Once I get passed MOT, I'm going to take her into the leather shop to get the interior sorted.

I'll post new pictures soon as I get her on the road.
