What Ho Elvenfolk!

I am Peter Burr from Franklin, TN USA, which is just south of Nashville (I assume you do know of Nashville, even if you haven't the foggiest idea where it is...). I don't currently own an Elf or Hornet, but a 1964? Elf MkII was my second car, as an 18yo boy. Believe it or not, I traded my 1953 MG-TD to get it! (Talk about your pampered American youth! Cool

So, I'm getting ready to buy a Mini, and the experience is reviving many dear memories of my Elf, to the degree that I'm seriously thinking of getting an Elf instead of the Rover Mini that I had my eyes on. There are several cars that I'm aware of, most especially one that has been on Ebay for a few cycles, a 1969 MkIII located in Colorado. I'll post another thread asking specifically about the car in case any of you know of it.

In any case, I remain most enamoured with the little guys and wanted to join in and bask in the memories, don't you know!

Hi Peter,

Welcome! You don't say how old you are now, but I also had my first Elf (markII) in my adolescence- she was my first car, tho' I had to work all summer to pay for her. I bought my second (Mark III) whilst going through my mid-life crisis just so I could bask in those memories and haven't looked back!

So I say - go for it!

Cheers! I am trying. I had the first operation of my life in March this year (should have been a double hernia repair),but due to too much blood they only did one, now I've got to have the other done on 1st Sept. Can't wait ! affraid
