Boot Floor
Hello guys, my carpet covered boot floor has a punched steel handle right in the middle of the back end - to help to get the floor out to get to battery and spare. On mine its hammered flat. I bent it up at 90 degrees to the floor but the boot lock hits it in that position. Does the boot floor usually have a lifting handle ? If it does where should it be to avoid the boot lock ?
Thanks muchly.

Re: Boot Floor
My boot floor certainly doesn;t have a handle. It does have a small cut out just adjaccent to the locking mechanism so you can get your fingers in to lift it out.

Re: Boot Floor
The handle should clear the locking mechanism if the boot shelf is pushed all the way forward and is sitting all the way down (not held up by an oversized wheel/tyre, for instance). You may have to bend it towards the front of the car just a little.

Re: Boot Floor
Mine never went back in after I redid the boot board. I haven't missed it.

re boot floor
Thanks muchly guys, its got fat little radials and I put some thin rubber strips under the spare wheel to stop it rubbing on the bottom of the wheel well when I re did the boot. That's pivoting the floor upwards into the lock. When I get the headlining re done I'll get the trimmer to put a new strip round the boot floor edge, I'll move the handle in an inch or two onto the board.
Thanks again for the help

Re: Boot Floor
I've got a 165 on the spare, and I find that instead of stuffing the back of the boot board into the rear U-shaped brackets, let it sit on top of the upper bracket and it sits in there nice and flat.
