NEC Classic Car Show 2011
It's that time of the year again and the annual Classic Car Show at the NEC Birmingham is just a couple of weeks away.
The Riley Motor Club stand will have a Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 Elf on display to celebrate the 50th year.
Peter Fortune is bringing along his fully restored Mk1. This car was registered in February 1962 and has many of the features only found in the very early cars, such as half fabric/half leather seats. This car is in pristine condition and a credit to Peter. The car was a total bodged wreck, believe me as I sold it to Peter for spares.
Chris Draper's Mk2 is in outstanding original condition with only 1 previous owner.
The Mk3 is my green Elf which although is nowhere near up to the standards of the two other exhibits, is still in good original condition if not a little tired around the edges.
The three day show opens on Friday 11th November.

I'll be at the show and on the stand both Saturday and Sunday. PM me and I'll give you my mobile number, as I hope to get a chance to have a look around the show as well.superworm wrote:See you Saturday - will you be on the Stand?

We'll see you Sunday. I'm guessing with 8 or so halls to look around you'll be spending quite some time off stand

Re: NEC Classic Car Show 2011
The Elf display on the RMC stand pulled in plenty of visitors as the Elf display was the main feature. The cars on the stand, an early 1962 Mk1, 1966 Mk11 and 1967 Mk111. This is one of the best car shows in the calendar. Although expensive to visit, a one to consider for next year.
BTW, The Heinz 57 stand had 2 good examples and the Viking Hornet. Sorry I didn't take any photo's, as you can see from the other images, the quality isn't too good. I must drop a few hints re Christmas.
A beige and white Elf was For Sale and went on the Saturday for £8000.00. It was pretty good but not a show winner.
Looking at the latest copy of Practical Classics, the Elf and Hornet values are at last catching up with the Classic Mini. ELF C/D rating £5250.00 for very good examples, Condition 1, £4500.00 Cars with very few faults, Condition 2, £2000.00 road worthy examples but needing work, Condition 3, £650.00 total restoration required. Hornet prices are just a little below these values.
