Hello,

A sad tale of misplaced faith in professional restorers.

I left my precious Elf with a mechanic in Suffolk when I was posted overseas - I visited in 2005 to check on progress and was happy to be told that the total refurbishment was progressing.

I rang the restorer today only to be told the car is now gone - scrapped as he went bankrupt! I guess I should have kept a better weather eye on it, but still I am devastated. If anyone knows what became of her, let me know.

Checked with DVLA and I am still registered owner and it is not recorded as having been scrapped, so advice gladly received.

Mrs RC

Did you get no progress reports at all from them between 2005 and now?

I am so sorry for you, hope it turns up somewhere.
