New Arrival to the fleet......
Hello all,
I'd like to introduce you to "Kevin" the Wolseley Hornet! Seen here alongside my faithful "Rupert"
"Kevin" has some interesting history... one lady owner at new, before being owned by Peter Mitchell, OBE (former Head of Gaydon). Laid up for a few years and was last on the road in 2005 before coming out of storage to be MOT'd and taxed (exempt) this week.
He has a 1275cc engine, disc brakes all round with uprated calipers and stage 1 kit. Halogen headlights, and 12" wheels. Most of the parts were BMC/Gaydon Motor Heritage "experiments" apparently. I need to find out more, but I do know that he has a Viking Sport rev counter (as fitted to the Viking Hornets) which apparently was fitted as a trial, (how true that is, I don't know, but intend to find out). According to the heritage certificate, he was originally Birch Grey/Yukon Grey, but is now Yukon Grey/Snowberry White as per another certain Riley Elf......
Let me know what you think, and technically he is "FOR SALE", so I am interested in sensible offers, but I may yet decide to keep him for myself as he is growing on me daily!!!
Here are some more pictures....
"Rupert" and "Kevin"
Horn centre removed to repair, sticking on!
The Viking Hornet rev counter
Needs a bit of tlc, but it goes like stink!

Let me know what you think.

I agree with Humph, you have to keep him! Those two cars look too good together to split up!
I am in the process of trying to secure another Riley Elf myself so I hope to make a similar anouncement like you, New Arrival To MY Fleet!

Re: New Arrival to the fleet......
I'm not allowed ! I have too much on. Elf with continuous care. Mini van to finish bodywork, Open Classic to cut up once engine has been put into van with the discs etc. 850 engine to dispose of from the van. so no room for another anyway (at the moment!)
Having said that I thought you were after a Hornet anyway Jase?
I agree with the others you should keep it.
I have to say I am very tempted!

Ok, I'm weak... I bought him yesterday! Collect him Wednesday.
So I now have "a nice pair" (quote Big Al)
He needs new hoses before I can take him on a journey, so he won't make Himley, but Bromley is a possibility....

Latest pics of Kevin the Hornet's new interior
Variation in colours on pics were due to sunlight and my dodgy camera, but essentially the seats are almost cardinal red. The carpet is and so are the door cards.
And here's a picture of Kevin and Rupert on the Mini Foresters club stand at Gaydon.
