I just received my replacement thermostat housing all the way from the Netherlands! Hilbert contacted through this site, offering to pull a spare of a motor in his shed. He wouldn't even let me pay for shipping!

What can I say? Very generous in the offer of the part and the time to remove it. I know that wasn't easy.

BTW I still have not been able to work out if this part is unique to the early 998 Hornets or all early 998's? If you look at the Haynes manual for instance, there is a picture of this exact fitting which is why I thought it was common to all early Minis.

Here's my thanks Hilbert, Top man! The thermostat housing arrived this morning!
Now I can get going on putting the cylinder head back on (new valves and guides and a skim looks like new!)

Hilbert, have you received your windows yet?

Hilbert,

Look for a pm -- Mason is not very far from the Dayton area where I am.
