Hi From Cumbria
Hi All,
I have now had Evlin (Named after the Mother in Law) for three years after running for 6 months the MOT came and she failed.
The plan at the time was buy a Mig set do the welding and all the jobs that were required suspension brakes & electric’s, I had built a couple of rally minis when I was a bit younger and a kit car so I did not see it as to much of a problem !!
18 months later she was still sat in the garage being used to store wood on, I decided it was time to sell her as I was not doing her justice.
I advertised her on my local intranet the company I work for have offices from Scotland down to the Midlands I think deep down I did not want to sell her that’s why I avoided e-bay and other Mini sites,
A lot of enquiries and a few people came to have a look with silly offers, I was not giving her a way.
I decided she was not going to be another unfinished project and bit the bullet and contacted South Lakes Mini Centre who have now put her back on the road for me.
Jobs that were done new back sub-frame and panel lots of welding all new brakes with 8.5 disks on the front and 1275GT hubs on the back all new lines, Hi Lows, Gas shocks & suspension overhaul.
There are still a few electrical gremlins that I need to sort out, I am looking to change the dynamo to an alternator this weekend & put the horn back on the steering wheel push it was on a big black switch, and sort the heater out.
Long term Evlin will need a new front end , doors & re-spray and interior re trim.
I will post a few pics when I workout how to do it!! And there will be plenty of question for the Technical/advice forum.

echo those sentiments and sounds like you've had a lot done - recommend the alternator upgrade, especially for running lights and wipers in the winter etc
best of british luck with the car

It's a long time since I heard anyone say "best of british luck" ! Is there such a thing in the present climate? !!!!!
