So, nearly ready then!
It would be great to see you guys at Brooklands, I really hope he is finished in time.

It's well on the way and looking good. I didn't realise the floor needed replacing, quite a big job. Hope to catch up later in the year.

It's starting to look like a contender for competition with my Elf (meaning of course it's looking great!)

Re: Rupert's Restoration.....
Thats very clean work mine is miles away from that stage, the way you have covered up the engine is that because the bay is also getting done? Is it possible to get into the cravices of the bay to give it a full respray without removing the engine? Also did you have to peel back all the black paint on the new flooring and prep like youve done with the body?

Re: Rupert's Restoration.....
The floor was flatted back first and then sprayed. The engine bay was done by hand last year hence the protection, but most of the big stuff, rad, air filter, dynamo etc has been removed to get to the sides and bulkhead as much as possible. The race sure is on to get him at Brooklands!
I'll be there no matter what, but I sure won't be happy if I'm there without the Elf!

With mine the engine is out, I used POR15 paint for the engine bay and then sprayed that myself so I could get some of the brake and suspension parts inplace and get it rolling before it went for the proper job - so its only covered as its already been painted and has a few components in.

Re: Rupert's Restoration.....
As I said, my engine bay was done last year, so didn't see the point in going mad with that again.

Thank you!
All of the hard graft has been done by my good friend Alex Playle, I'm just helping with the final stages and putting back together. Will probably have to pull an "all nighter" on Friday to even have a prayer of a chance of getting to Brooklands at the weekend
Doing all we can though!!!
