Overrider mounting
This may seem a silly question, but how do your overriders attach? Mine have just one bolt going through and pinching against the inside of the bumper. (Oh, I need to sort that rust, ouch!)
But some of the ones I've had restored had bits of a strap attached to one of the bolts when I got them. What's the strap for?
And how does the hole in the face of the bumper come into play? The one bolt can't go through the hole, as it then wouldn't pinch against anything. I must be missing something.

Re: Overrider mounting
They should mount like that, as well as with a bracket that attaches to the body to keep it in place and even. Well, that's how mine is in any case.

Re: Overrider mounting
Heres whats on mine ...... complete with "strappy" things !
" />
Rear fixing
" />
Front fixing
The "straps" are bolted through the front and rear valances and I guess are there to reduce the overider 'bounce' on the bumpers A previous owner has very kindly Red Oxide painted the undersides of my bumpers, so no rust !!! Must clean up that exhaust tailpipe though !!
Hope this helps ?

Hmmm. I don't have any holes in my rear valance, (and not going to make any) so I might think of another way to attach the brackets, or leave them off. I assume the front bumper mounting is similar? My fronts don't have the straps either.

Re: Overrider mounting
My 2 pics above show rear & front and the 'strap' arrangement is the same.
If you dont want to drill the holes and use the straps I'm sure that'll be OK as the overiders dont weigh all that much in themselves anyway.

Re: Overrider mounting
I'm sure they'll be fine without the straps. If the over riders are on tight enough, I don't see them working loose. Doubt your roads are as bad as a lot of South African roads, so doubt they'll loosen up or shift.
