1967 Wolseley Hornet in Iceland

Back in 1968 a Hornet came to Iceland. It had been bought new in the UK the year before by an Icelandic student, who took it home with him when he had finished his studies. The car was put in storage when the rear Hydrolastic units were replaced with rubber suspension units in 1981 and has since been stored inside. I bought the car last summer and it will be rebuilt to its former glory. It still has the original 998 engine/gearbox, but of course needs some body parts. This is the only Hornet that has ever come to Iceland.

Nice! Góðan daginn, Gardar! I spent two years at Keflavik back in 1989-91. What an extraordinary place! I saw lots of Ladas but no Hornet!

The Hornet is my third Mini, the other two cars are a 1992 Rover Cooper and a 1973 Mini which was converted to Cooper S specs by me when new,  reunited with me in 2012 and totally rebuilt now. I have been an avid Mini fan since age 10 and I was 16 when I bought the 1973 car new.

I wouldn't mind seeing that '73 Mini.

The seats are Cobra Classic.

Thanks Jared, both were designed and made by me back in 1973. The doorcards are original but the dash I had to rebuild. It looks the same as the original, with the exception of a cassette player that was in the original one.
