Elf Bonnet Spear

Hi I saw on here last week someone who was re-making some? Anyone know who/where I saw it?

I've registered with Facebook to try to find out more about this reproduction bonnet spear. Unfortunately I can't make any sense of the thread there and can't find any reference to the part from Dirk Wegman. Can original mazak be rechromed? I often seem to have heard it can't be. My bonnet spear has been painted a similar shade of yellow to my car's roof. Under the paint, it seems to have been ground or sanded down, probably to remove the pitting. Goodness knows whats under the paint. For a time I was looking for secondhand spears on eBay but few turned up, and when they did they were terrible. Looks like I'll have to start doing the rounds of autojumbles.

I thought they could be re-chromed, I had a quote and it was over £100. I will get mine done at some point but in a batch of bits with a friend when he is ready.
They are quite rare now I think.

I got a NOS or a reproduction bonnet spear of a riley elf by mistake
and would swap for a NOS wolseley hornet one.........
