Bingley Hall Staffs. 27th Jan.2013
Happy New Year Folks!
I thought I'd put this thread up for folks to make comments.
I understand Big Al has mentioned in the newsletter asking members to let him have names of those interested?
Mr Elf has stated elsewhere that he will be there.
I shall be there in my daily drive (I may want some bits for my minivan) Thought I would give others a chance to show their motors seeing as we would only be allowed six cars (but I am willing to bring mine should it be needed to make the number up)

I will be there on the Mini Magazine stand at various times during the day.
Also trundling round with the MM film crew and photographers.
Sadly no Mini-based vehicle for me this year, I am dragging Mr Colbran's project up instead with the MG.

We'll be attending, hoping for a good deal on some rose petals for Bert. Bert won't be with us though as he's currently coming apart for a once over.

I'd be a bit wary of sourcing a "good deal" on any Rosepetals that aren't made by Mini Spares.
I have it on good authority that there are others available form other sources that are liable to fall apart...

I met Simon and his lovely wife too!
A great day although show didn't seem to have as big a crowd as last year (when we were on the "shelf") not as many used bits stands or professional traders either. There seemed to be more room and more minis scattered amongst the trading stands. Always plenty of room in the cafe and no queues. Need I say more?
I remember Al saying to me "Too be honest here isn't much that can be bought on the Net" Al, you were right!
Had I not been with my mate in his Clubman 1275GT, I only spent £14 for a length of 3" air hose for my van and had I paid the entrance fee to get in as well, I would have been very disapointed to say the least. We drove through a few floods, some of about 9" deep if not more.
On the bright side Mick won the best for his GT!
I guess the heavy snowfalls followed by heavy rain did'nt help, we also had a 20 mile detour which put us back in journey time

Good to meet you finally Tony. It took some doing in that hall with a phone signal that kept disappearing on us
I have to agree with Tony about how quiet the show was. We don't normally arrive until after lunch so we're not hanging around too long before the raffle draw, but even so it seem a lot quieter than the last few years on both the trader and punter front.
I always find £10 each a bit stiff, but in fairness because we're so late arriving there have been a few years when the admission guys had gone by the time we arrived, so I guess on average i've paid less than the norm over the years. They packed up 10 minutes after we arrived this year Must be on to us
I did end up paying a lot less than expected for a pair of rear side opening windows with the frame joint away from the bottom edge (the reason my rear quarters are rotten). The only downside being that they're later Mini ones with the less ornate opening mechanism. Need to see if these can be swapped from mine.
