MG Mini Elf or Hornet?

Hello
I'm hoping someone out there can help....
I have been sent a single photo of what appears to be a Riley Elf or Hornet but the thing is, the car is badged with an MG badge.
It is at this point that I should point out that I have no knowledge or experience with elfs or hornets, so I hope someone can help.
The photo shows the front end only and has the traditional elf / hornet front end but the MG badge has thrown me. Anyone know of any special MG models? Or Is it simply someone has stuck it on when it shouldn't be there?!?!

having read through the info it appears that this MG Mini (also loosely called the M Type) was a one off.....
The photo i have been sent shows a car that is very similar (green with the same grille with MG badge) but no sun roof or front spot lights.
This car owned locally (Abingdon / Oxford area) so i'm wonder if there is more than one or these "rare" cars?
