Front Panel (Nightmare!!)
Hi guys,
In recent weeks an horrific realisation has come about with regards to the front panel of my MKIII Riley Elf. When we first inspected the car when we bought it we thought that the bits of filler we could see were just for bits of pinhole rust that had broken through the paint. However, it now appears things are MUCH worse than we had at first thought. The whole front panel is made of Filler, Newspaper and bits of scrap metal; it's a nightmare! We really need to get a replacement panel for the car but a heritage panel from the few places I've looked that do stock them will cost me £370-£400, which is nearly as much as I spent on the whole car! So guys, any help sourcing a front panel in the price bracket of £100-£150 will be greatly appreciated. I have seen a few on Ebay but any other sources would be appreciated.
Thanks guys, Happy Easter.
Pete

If you're where you could collect the ones offered on Ebay, I would go for those. Otherwise you're going to be putting out big money for a new (most likely improperly made) one. Another option is to get a standard Mini panel and modify it with one of Gordon's conversion panels. Link to Conversion Panel

You could make your own using Catmints instructions or even asking Gordon A club member)for a price for one madef or you. see link below

That way you will know you have a solid panel.

There was a NOS front panel on ebay last week; made just over £100. I decided not to bother as there is a new Mini front panel in my son's shed and I can mod that to fit for a small sum. A new Mini panel will cost you around £50.

The comma became part of the link and killed it. Here's a working one.
