First US meet of 2009
Had the Elf at Spring Thing 2009 last weekend in Orlando Florida. A 7 hour drive down on the freeway, and the fresh engine and suspension worked very nicely. I even got to use the AC a bit, as the temperatures were around 75 degrees F. It took first place in the Elf/Hornet class. True, there was only one other Elf there, but still, a first is a first. It would have won in the Modified Mini class if I could have entered both classes, as I had many a person tell me it was the best modified car at the show. I had reps from two different UK Mini magazines approach me to do a feature. All in all, it was a great outing. There will be at least 3 more this summer. I can't wait!

First US Meet...

I love it and find it Ironic that in the States they have categories for best Elf/Hornet.... yet in this country the only show I know of that does that is Malvern (next Sunday by the way!)
Most shows here you get stuck in with the Variants.....Vans, Pickups etc...
I think we (as a club) should campaign via Mini Mag and MiniWorld to get our own category added at shows!

You may have a point there. (and don't the vans and pickups seem to win!)
