Interior light wiring Empty Interior light wiring

Have been meaning to ask at the shows but keep forgetting!
I can't quite work out how it is supposed to be wired up on my MK2 which is only switched on and off at the light itself and not connected up to a door switch.
Any advice please or photo/diagram/wire colours.

That's exactly how mine works although there was some broken door switches fitted (not connected). I'll check the haynes in a bit and check. Usually it's one wire feeding it and earthing through the chassis.

Do you want the diagram to wire it in via door switches?

Simple mystery solved. previous owner had left live wire on wrong side of switch but no bulb. Now I know why!
It just shorted straight to earth! Thanks Jon for help. Very Happy
