Re: Hornet Race Car in US
That's a brilliant little racing hornet. I've seen pictures of it before, but didn't realize it was in Ohio. I don't doubt that it's the only full racing Hornet in the states, but I have to question the seller's claim that it's one of three Hornets in North America. Can we get a head count of known Hornets over here?

Re: Hornet Race Car in US
I was reminded that I actually saw this car on track at Watkins Glen during the historic weekend when they featured the mini in Sept 2002. I looked through my pictures and found one shot from the rear in the paddock -- I was using a fairly poor digital camera in those days -- and I didn't shoot any film so it's barely recognizable.
One Hornet is chilling in my garage -- it's darn cold out there -- we had -7F this morning. And I know of at least 4 more and am sure there are a fair number here in the US.

I can think of at least 8 Hornets in NA that I've seen over the years.

Does that include mine? 1966 MkII Maroon with white roof. Personal import in 1998 to Canada. In my wife's family since new. Should be on the road as soon as the salt is gone.

Quite a lot of miles to the north-west of you in Edmonton, Marcel Chichak has the first Crayford convertible under restoration. ISTR he did have an Elf, but as it's no longer on his website I guess he's sold it on - Crayfords don't come cheap I suppose!

Site seeing in a Hornet
Looking forward to it. I was putting the finishing touches on the mechanicals today. The water pump decided to leak, the dynamo stopped charging and the headlamp switch went intermittent. Still, I was able to blast around the parking lot a bit just to blow thew cobwebs away.
