I personally don't like the wing mirrors. Several reasons. Another obstacle for mud to cling to and cause rust?
Difficult to adjust to suit oneself. Not always good for rear viewing. Prefer the door ones myself. They give a bettter rear view, at hand to adjust & wipe .

I agree with Tony. Door ones are much more practical

It depends how original a look you want I suppose. Mine has wing mirrors, simply because it had them when I bought it and I have only replaced one of the wings. They are a pain though; easily moved if someone brushes againast them, then you have to get out of the car to reset them.

In either case, whichever type you want, you'll find them here.

As far as I'm aware, they never actually were factory equipped, but added at the dealer or by the owner. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. My personal recommendation is to find a pair of NOS Desmo Boomerang wing mirrors from ebay, which would be a period correct accessory, rather than the new ones. They seem to come up quite often.

as far as i know you are quite correct and they were never factory fitted and only added by the supplying dealer or by the owner at home. wing mirrors give a more period look, but for safety and practicality, door mirrors are better, even the little ones that clip on the front side trim.

best tip for fitting wing mirrors is to sit in the car and have a friend hold the mirrors in all possible positions on the wings so you can see where the best position is and get them to mark the best spot with a bit of blue tack or masking tape etc - then it's deep breath and drill them holes.....
