Myvanwy the mini van
I suggested this Section so I suppose it only right I should start it?
If there is no objection I will put Myvanwy in the spotlight. (They are all minis anyway!)
My progress so far has been very little as shortly after I got her 510XYD arrived back from the spray shop so Myvanwy was put on hold (It's next to impossible to do two project at same time is it not?)
Photos show van being collected .
Work done so far. Offside outer cill removed (almost by hand!)
Part of inner cill and drivers Footwell panel removed. (photo to follow)
Work halted until I weld some support struts across door opening as I feel the shell is too weak to withstand any more rusty metal removal until new panels are welded in.

Mine is Florentine Blue/Old English White roof, see forum link below.

I have a few little issues to complete on Elfie for the Bingley Show next Sunday after which I hope to get restarted on Myvanwy. Quite looking forward to it!
Your van is looking good.

Progress!?
My son(Phil) and I had a good session on Myvanwy last night and managed to put it on a home made Spit loaned to me by a fellow miniaddict. The van was stripped except for steering rack and column.
Don't knock the primitive method of supporting the shell because IT Works, and it did for my mate when he did his van!

The last owner bought it when he was 16, his Father and Uncle run a international haulage firm. The lad had some "professional" welding done to the floor and wings. the floor panels were just welded over the top and the wings are too far apartwhich means the bonnet has 1/2" gaps either side! Professional my A**e !
anyway the whole floor is coming off and a complete one weld in (if I can find something to weld it to!) Wish me luck!

Re: Myvanwy the mini van
My last experience of "professional" welding (aka "garage to get it through an mot" welding) was one of the main reasons I learned to do it myself. When I picked the car up the underseal was still wet - it was that which was hiding the crap job they'd done, with no paint protection. Next MOT, it needed doing again...
Needless to say, it was the last time I used that garage.
