Rear Bumper Overriders and original jack needed
If anyone can help.....I'm located in the US and have a 69 Riley Elf Automatic. I'm in need of a set of rear overriders and would like to find an original jack.
Thanks in advance, Brarcox

Somerford list these but they flag up as "Sold out"
http://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/eshop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=173_175_176&products_id=1581
Maybe give them a bell (+44 (0)1249 721 421) since Big Al believes they now have manufacting rights:

I'll keep a weather eye open for some used one meanwhile.
Cheers

Briarcox,
You need to keep an eye on Ebay for the Overriders if Somerford doen't have them. For the jack if you really want one also watch ebay in Mini parts areas. It is usually better to jack the car at the subframe than depend on the manuals jacking points.
Glad to know you are on the forum. I hope to keep track of every Elf in the Southeast.

Also check with Seven Enterprises or Mini Mania. They sometimes advertise used parts. I've also had some luck with Nick Rogers at
Min-E-Bitz His website isn't the greatest, but he answers emails and he's found several good used spare bits for me.

Are the jacks the red upside down "T" shaped jacks?

Re: Rear Bumper Overriders and original jack needed
Have any of you (British members) ever tried comparing overriders from other cars to see if any will work on the Elf/Hornets? Looking at pictures of other Brit cars it seems like while they may not be exactly the same, the chances are that other ones might fit with some gentle persuasion. Lots of other parts were borrowed from other cars, so why not the overriders?

Yo Red
Can't ever remember any car having similar over-riders like the Elf/Hornet. Don't even think the Lotus types even wore them. The cut-outs for the bumper mean that the bumper itself would have to be very similar to Elf/Horner.
I do use another supplier for "Mini" bits, namely SC Parts Group. They have a mini catalog (amongst others) that is almost 1 & 1/2 inches thick.
It does list the standard mini Jack & Handle (for brarcox)

(not cheap?????!!!!!!)
and for Red, they appear to have Rear Lenses

They also list a "Wolseley" boot badge - iirc someone was looking for one recently::

as well as "hornet", "Riley", "Mk II"
Their catalog is free on request (worth having!!) but you have to pay for postage
If you have any queries you can contact SC Parts Group Ltd on +44 (0)1293 847200 or email enquiries@scparts.co.uk

Re: Rear Bumper Overriders and original jack needed
I have a pair, they are solid but the chrome has some micro pitting.
maybe others on the forum can help suggest a fair price for us both?
I am happy to pack them up well and send to the states.
Thanks
Pics will be posted if you still need them.

I think the biggest problem is that the bumper itself is a different shape to any other. I have a pair of reasonable overriders removed from my Austin A40 Farina (which I found a full NOS set for!) The overall shape is identical to the Elf, but the bumper cutout is massively different. It's my belief that I can cut it out to fit, but whether is will be worth the effort remains to be seen!
