Man, I just need to move to the UK so I don't have to keep missing these. Any jobs over there for graphic designers?

I doubt it, everyone wants to be a graphic designer over here ,or so it seems!

Mind you in a recession... we've just advertised for three jobs, one had 43, one had 68 and one post, which is quite poorly paid got 175 applicants- scary stuff!!

Sarah. Being old in the tooth (as I am at 64+) a lot of the youngsters working alongside me in Morrisons supermarket, often confide in me and talk to me re their careers.
I am amazed at how many of them have "degree" in IT (or whatever they are supposed to have to get a job in IT) and here they are stacking shelves for £6.50/hour for the privilege.
One works with me in the Pharmacy as a counter assistant has a Degree in Zoology which I'm sure is going to help him discuss ailments and recommend cough and cold remedies with the customers!
I know this is a classic car forum but this is a serious subject and as some of our members are in the profession, a small discussion would not do the forum any harm. IT does play a massive part of our lives and I have the impression that people think they could make a lot of money fast and easily without doing any physical work. I guess, by saying that, I have opened a can of worms, and a big can at that!
Feel free to attack me!
BTW. these are full timers I talk about, There are many Uni students work part time in the shop who are studying IT and other subjects which in my opinion will not help them in most jobs today. I hope I am seriously wrong for their sakes.
