Have you been caught on a speed camera?

You can find out because now the UK Government’s freedom of information Act allows you to access all speed camera offences registered in the last 12 months. Every time your car goes past a speed camera, even at 1 MPH over the set limit, it is registered and kept on a data base. You only get a ticket if you are way over the limit or, and did you know this if you receive over 10 near misses you will be classed as a serial offender and get a ticket the next time you just go over the limit. This is why people are being done for 34mph in a 30mph area, whilst others doing 30mph do not.

You can check what has been registered against your car at this web site ;- www.i-database.co.uk just enter your car registration number and if there is any data on your vehicle you can click on the camera window to see a copy of the photograph.

My daughter got done on the A1 near Grantham. I knew before she did because she was driving my car at the time...

I thought 83mph wasn't that bad for a 1978 Mini 1000, unmodified... Wink

i got caught a while back in JVG - 38 in a 30 zone. to save getting points on my licence i now have to pay £110 for the privelege of going on a one-day "speed awareness" course. i have copies of the camera photos to prove it too! Mad

reckon it's not every day they get to nick a 41 year old Wolseley! Laughing

my excuse is that i was being distracted at the time by munching away happily on mum's bacon sarnies! old ray was right behind me in his elf but he got away with it - maybe the camera film ran out or he actually noticed the darn thing! Laughing

I checked the site and sure enough they had my MGA doing 72mph in a 60mph zone on A19. Guess I am going to just have to slow down. Wink Very enlightening site.

yes, it kind of doesn't work when it tries to tell me that my Elf (SORNed for over a year) has recent speeding offences 250 miles from home!
