Front Door Bins

Some who has owned Gizmo before me has cut & shut the door bins (For some reason)
Had an look on my local mini dealer it says they are from 1980 onwerds

Its for my MK3 anyone no becasue im not to sure on this one

There was a short door bin fitted to most cars from 80-on, but they are not remotely like the Elf/Hornet type.

I may have a pair of original-type ones in my shed; not great condition but perfectly usable if you're interested?

What are they like

You'll have to forgive me, what does that mean exactly? Are they missing, or have they been modified in some way? I thought cut and shut had something to do with welding, but the bins are made of plastic and just screwed to the doors, so that couldn't be it.

Some one has cut them in half and over laped them so they are smaller

That's weird. Wonder why they did that? I've thought about just taking mine off to reduce some of my rattles and squeaks, but they're darn handy for dropping odd stuff into. I've got an extra pair from a green car if you can't find anything closer. Shipping would be hurtful to the pocketbook, though.

What are they like

They're red, a bit faded. I'll dig them out tomorrow & post a pic.

If you can find a reasonable set, even if they aren't red, there are some pretty good plastic prep and paint products (say that three times fast) around these days. You could easily paint them to match. Those plastic side pieces on my seats (also dyed red) used to be tan. The color I used is Krylon wine red satin with a coat of 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Here are the ones I have - came on a pair of doors that were donated to me. The chrome strip is missing from one, but they're sound enough. If they were painted with the stuff Red Riley used they'd be spot on.
