Capel Classic Car show and Village Fete

For those of you who have never been to Capel Classic Car show it is like stepping back 30 years and entering an episode of Midsummer Murders. The cars are all set out on the village green along side the cricket practice area and the bowls club house. As you enter the green you are greeted by a circle of stalls from the WI, scouting groups various bric-a-brac and boot sales. This year the number of stalls had doubled and we managed to come away with plants, jam, cakes and auto jumble. There was a stall called Marks mini's (what an apt name) he had lots of bits and pieces and as usual my Mark managed to find a few interesting rusty looking very important parts (so he says). In a large marquee the villagers have all there competition entries from flowers, craft and cooking enthusiasts, a nice insight to village life. We sat and watched a very large pig loaded onto the bbq ready for the evenings barn dance.
The weather started cloudy and we thought for a moment it was going to rain but after a 2 hour journey and Mark moaning all the way about the traffic on the motorways the sun came out and ended up being a very pleasant day. Unfortunately there was no Wolseley Hornets or Riley Elf's so we will definitely be taking Ebby when she is finished.
Ebby has all her interior paint on and some of her parts are slowly returning to her shell. She is now only waiting for the preparation and paint to her outside when the painter returns from his holidays. So fingers, toes and arms crossed she will be all hunky dory for the very first show of 2010.
