Door check strap grommets

Hi all,
I am a newbie here. I am sure someone must have asked this question before but, if they have, I can't find it. On my recently acquired Elf Mark 3 (now in Melbourne, from New Zealand), the door check strap grommets need replacing. I bought the grommets that I thought would fit (CZH4052/3), only to realise that they come with one big hole in the middle, whereas my grommets have two holes, one each for the strap and the interior light switch. Is it just a matter of cutting the holes in the grommets or am I missing something more fundamental here? Thanks for any advice you can offer...Andy in Melbourne
