REPAINTING MY 1966 MK.2 HORNET IN WHITE - BUT WHICH WHITE ?
This Dublin assembled CKD Mk.2 Hornet was first registered on 16th February 1966.
The car is currently Red with a Black roof - but the colour in its original Log Book simply says colour = White.
I can choose from Snowberry, Arctic, Polar, Old English, to name but a few ! (all different shades of white).
The question is " What is the authentic shade of White correct for a 1965/66 Mk.2 Hornet ? "

Great question! The Mk II Hornets used Old English White (WT3) and Toga White (WT5 -- looked more like light grey -- see the lighter coloured Heinz Hornets), but only, as far as I can find, as one of two colours on two-toned cars.
I did find reference in Porter's, "Purchase & DIY Restoration" book to a single colour White (WT2) with an interior, "Fitted with any trim colour applicable to Austin & Morris Standard Saloon Mk II." One could make a reasonable guess that WT2 would have been the mono-tone colour used on CKDs.
Now, what the heck does WT2 look like?

best as i can make out, it would've been a (WT.5) Toga White roof

Many thanks cheleker and Big Al.
Looks like Big Al could be right with his suggestion of Toga White.
As already mentioned, this Hornet started out in life in Dublin in 1966 with a monochrome paint job - i.e. white all over.
I've looked under & behind the dash and found it to be painted in a sort of very pale grey.
Presume that's what Toga White looks like.
If that's true - all of a sudden - I am rapidly going off that colour.
May have to consider using " the best looking " but of course authentic BMC shade of white - any suggestions ?

My favorite of the white(ish) colors: Whitehall Beige.

REPAINTING MY 1966 HORNET :
Yes Red Riley - Whitehall Beige has a certain je ne sais quoi about it - but is it listed as a genuine BMC colour option ?

Yes, It's listed for the MKII Hornet as a body color with a Florentine blue roof.
