Mark III heater???? Empty Mark III heater????

Post  Captain61 Wed Aug 01, 2012 1:03 am

Hi. I am a prospective Elf buyer over here across the pond in the states. I found an Elf about 5 miles from my house. It is a 1968 but it needs a proper heater. Do any of you have a working, no leaking heater that would work without mods for a MKIII?
Cheers,
Mike

I don't, but if you can find a Mini heater it should work. I sold my old Elf one to a guy who put it a Mini, so I assume it would work the other way as well.

Any Mini heater will work. In my experience, the most efficient ones are the plastic-cased type, which is what I have in my Elf, but any of them will work. Depending on the year, the routing of the pipes may be different - early models had a pipe on each side, while later cars had both pipes on the right. Very late cars had a matrix that can be replaced without splitting the casing.
