Reversing light - standard, optional extra or retro fit? Empty Reversing light - standard, optional extra or retro fit?

Did the MK3 Elf have a reverse light fitted ex factory? Mine has one on it but I think from the way it is fitted it is not standard. The handbook and wiring diagram do not have one shown either. The gearbox is the correct one for a MK3 but has a reverse light switch on it (although not wired up or working) which again I think must be a retro fit. Any views?

Maxi reversing lights look splendid (if you can find one these days) and fit very well.
