HISTORIC IRISH ELF MK1 - IN FULL RALLY TRIM - GENUINE 98MPH - WHAT OFFERS ? Empty HISTORIC IRISH ELF MK1 - IN FULL RALLY TRIM - GENUINE 98MPH - WHAT OFFERS ?

Will reluctantly part with my very early Mk.1 Elf (Fisher Body No.R268) - because I've realised that I've too many miles on MY clock !
The car can be viewed in Dublin (many photos of it can be seen accompanying my piece on "Elf still successful in Classic/Retro Rallys").
My Elf is/has been dry garaged since I acquired it in August 2003 & to the best of my knowledge by the previous owner also.
Good Points : 1275cc A+ Motor (from Metro Turbo - hence extra strength Crank) : Twin 1.5 (H4) SU Carbs : Fibreglass Bonnet.
Jack Knight straight-cut gearbox : Rose-jointed front suspension currently set at 5 degree negative camber.
Cooper S 7.5" Discs with alloy 4-pot Calipers : Five 5" Alloy "Mistral" wheels c/w with Yokohama A08 Radials.
Full length "Scottish-type" Duralium sump guard : Oil Cooler : Air Horns: Flat Lens H4 7" Headlights + Twin Lucas 6" Spots.
Full Roll Cage with 2 Rally Seats : "Britax" 2" 4-Point Harnesses : "Halda" + "Brantz" Trip Meters + "Brantz" Electronic Timer :
Competition (street legal) exhaust system with RC40 Single Silencer: 7" "Cibie" Reverse Light:
Facet High Pressure Fuel Pump : All systems (Brake/Fuel/Electrics) have been " internalised" i.e.smooth underside.

Bad Points : Undersides revel this car's competition life of 22 years in that it requires Both Outer Sills replaced.
Possibility that Both Inner Sills will also need replacement. Ditto for Floor (cracked Passenger foot well).
The rear Sub-frame has a hair-line crack - replacement necessary & the nearside (and probably both) Keel plates ditto.

Can't tell you where the bonnet came from as it was on the car when I purchased it in August 2003.
All I can suggest is that you buy the car ! ( a steal @ £4K )

David, I can't believe you're thinking of selling your fabulous car!! For anyone considering it, I've seen it in the flesh and it's an amazing little motor.
Shocked
