64 Hornet --gen 39,000 miles up for sale.
Hi Everyone--- Thought i'd offer my Wolseley Hornet to anyone on this forum first as it needs a good home. Have been into Mini Coopers for a long time now and found this Hornet sat up on blocks in 2006--off the road for many years hence low miles. Was very impressed by the nice grey painted floors and original interior inside--and the sparkling chrome outside. The old guy had certainly preserved it well i thought. A quick feel allong the sills indicated it had an oversill on the Drivers side and the original sill on the passengers. A deal was struck and kevs1071 and i brought it home to my workshop. Over the next year the minimal rot was cut away--the inner floor needed repaired at drives side and a proper m-machine sill fitted--- the passengers side a smiliar story--- all were painted grey to match after stone chipping the outside. The passengers outer A panel was suspect and on further investigations so ws the inner--so the descision to replace those were made--again M-machine panels used--the wing stayed as it was perfect. Kev gave me a help to repair the bonnet corners---with welded in sections--and the front end was repainted in original colour--Yukon Grey.
The mechanical side was all repllaced with new old stock parts--all 4 shocks are grey girling ones---the front ball joints--brakes were all renewed with new master--pipes and wheel cylinders shoes etc--- engine was taken out and all the seals replaced --even the clutch seal and plate renewed--then painted an put back in. The wheels were all blast cleaned and new tyres fitted front--than back on car for mot. Passed first MOT in 13 years in may 2007 with 37912 on the speedo----and just passed MOT again on 26th Aug with 39115 showing. From the condition of the car and interior i have no doubts this is correct miles since 1964 but have no paperwork.
The car may not be a perfect concours car---theres bits or surface rust in the paint from storage---and along lower part of passenger door--but it a genuine example in almost original condition. Kevin also got me a new front carpet due to moth damage-- but the original is still with the car.
More pictures can be emailed if required--or come see the car--its in scotland though. Still bears its original Stirling reg. and only 4 owners from new.
Cheers Andy

It is a lovely original car---I was trying to avoid old Fleabay and thought Chris was a gen enthusiast who would cherish the old girl--you live n learn.
